John is our Head of Talent Management. Our team is integral to achieving the Aiana vision, which is why with over 35 years in the luxury hospitality industry throughout India and the Middle East, John is responsible for the recruitment and continued development of Aiana’s management and staff.
John holds a postgraduate diploma in Business Management and Industrial relations. He has a deep understanding of the service standards and operating procedures that are expected within the sector and he has extensive experience within the industry.
After beginning his career at the Maurya Sheraton in Delhi as a hotel manager, he spent some time at The Leela Kempinski in Mumbai, before moving to the five star Oceanic Hotel in Khorfakkan-Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, where he took on the role of Food & Beverages Manager. John played a leading role in securing the reputations of these properties, where he gained extensive experience in managing and motivating large teams and operating best-in-class standards.
After gaining hands-on experience in the industry, John moved on to become the Head of Human Resources Development at the Leela Group. He played a crucial role in the overhaul of the management trainee programme, where he introduced quality audits and new operating procedures across the business.
As well as the recruitment of senior professionals, John has overseen the training and development of some of India’s finest hotel managers to date.
